Job summary

onX is seeking an Android Engineer III to scale hunter experiences within the Hunt team. You will own features from onboarding through the season, collaborating across the organization to deliver engaging, reliable Android experiences.

You will contribute to architecture, testing, and performance, while mentoring teammates and exploring AI-powered improvements. This role supports a nationwide distributed workforce with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of four (4) years of professional software development experience is required, with Android focus for at least two years.
• You write maintainable, well-tested code that's easy to understand and debug.
• A strong sense of ownership, mentoring, and customer advocacy.
• A strong curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI.
• A hypothesis-driven, metrics-oriented approach with data-guided iteration.

Responsibilities

• Design and build an Android app focused on engaging experiences.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to integrate with services.
• Contribute to architecture and write unit/integration/acceptance tests.
• Provide code review and ensure shipping quality.
• Design, build, and analyze A/B experiments
• Explore embedding AI as a repeatable co-pilot in workflows
