Job summary

Grand Canyon University is seeking motivated Instructional Assistants to support learning in the College of Natural Sciences on its Main Campus in Phoenix, AZ. This face-to-face, part-time role offers hands-on tutoring, classroom facilitation, and academic support to help students thrive.

The role partners with faculty to prepare lessons, assist with grading, and hold weekly tutoring hours. In-person availability in Arizona is required as part of joining our mission-driven Lopes community.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
• Must reside in Arizona and be available to work in person on GCU’s Main Campus.
• Successfully completed coursework in Biological Sciences – Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, Physiology, or Cellular Function with a grade of B or higher.
• Strong communication and classroom support skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with faculty to support classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Assist with lesson preparation, grading, and classroom facilitation.
• Hold weekly office hours to provide tutoring and academic support.
• Reinforce course concepts through one-on-one and group assistance.
• Observe and report student progress to faculty.
• Help create a collaborative and encouraging learning environment.
• Uphold and support the mission and values of Grand Canyon University.
