Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Lab Manager to run the Anatomy Lab and OR spaces within the CCSI at the Mount Sinai BioDesign Institute. You will manage human tissue procurement, scheduling, storage, and compliant disposal, while ensuring strict regulatory adherence and safe, efficient operations.

You will lead lab sessions, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and help develop SOPs and documentation to improve throughput and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years’ laboratory experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Comfort with handling cadavers and cadaveric materials preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and professionalism.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle of human tissue and cadaveric material management, including procurement, scheduling, storage, and compliant disposal.
• Lead operations of anatomy labs and OR spaces, including staffing, equipment, and supplies.
• Develop and refine SOPs, documentation systems, and lab protocols to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate with external partners and internal leadership for scheduled sessions and resource planning.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate record-keeping across facilities.
