Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist invites applications for a full-time Lab Technician role in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center – Lab: Operating Room Pathology. The 40-hour work week runs 12:00pm to 8:30pm with a 30-minute lunch.

The position is based at Winston Campus and requires a high school diploma with lab pathology experience preferred. Training, supportive team, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Lab tech or equivalent related clinical experience with two years anatomic pathology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates accessioning and preparation of specimens by entering patient data and orders into LIS and other systems.
• Provides excellent customer service and transports specimens to lab departments per QA policies.
• Prioritizes registrations based on patient acuity determined by clinical staff.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance to update patient information and databases.
• Ensures completeness/accuracy of registration data and follows up on incomplete information.
• Follows safety and identification procedures when handling patients and specimens.
