Job summary

Extend is seeking a Manager, Analytics Engineering to lead the analytics and data engineering team responsible for the Snowflake warehouse, dbt repository, ingestion, and pipelines. You will drive platform standards and partner with multiple business functions to deliver trusted data products.

You will oversee platform migrations, maintain data quality, and enable self-service analytics, while coordinating with Analytics, Actuarial, Risk, Fraud, Product, Operations, Finance and Revenue teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing engineers.
• Advanced SQL and dimensional modeling.
• Deep dbt experience.
• Pipeline engineering with Python and cloud data infrastructure.
• Reliability ownership including on-call and incident response.
• Analytical partnership with analysts, data scientists, or quantitative teams.
• Clear written communication for architecture and tradeoffs.
• Prioritization across many requests with clear tradeoffs.
• Bonus: actuarial, risk, fraud analytics, or revenue reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the analytics engineering team.
• Set the technical bar and own the dbt repository as a shared platform.
• Own the warehouse and pipelines (Snowflake, dbt, ingestion, Glue/CDK jobs).
• Model core business domains (orders, contracts, claims, service orders).
• Evolve platform through migrations and retire legacy components.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to align on definitions and roadmap.
• Harden data quality with schema validation and audits.
• Run platform operations including on-call, monitoring, and incident triage.
• Enable self-service with documentation and BI access.
• Automate operational workflows and AI-assisted tasks.
