Job summary

Five Star Credit Union is seeking an Analytics Engineer in Dothan, AL to design and build data pipelines, develop dimensional models, and create Power BI reports. The role blends data engineering, BI development, and platform support with a focus on SQL Server and modern analytics.

You will drive data-driven solutions, translate business requirements into technical designs, and collaborate across the organization to ensure data quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or minimum 5 years of equivalent work experience
• Expert-level SQL Server knowledge including T-SQL, performance tuning, and indexing
• SSIS development, deployment, and error handling with reliable packages
• Power BI development including datasets, DAX, and visual best practices
• Dimensional modeling (star/snowflake) and ETL processes
• Data security practices including PII protection and safeguarding sensitive information
• Experience with credit union/core banking systems is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines using SQL Server, SSIS, and other tools
• Develop and maintain data models (star/snowflake) to support analytics
• Build and optimize SQL code, stored procedures, and views
• Integrate data from APIs and external systems with quality controls
• Create Power BI reports and dashboards and implement DAX measures
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions
• Mentor analysts on data understanding, reports, and dashboards
• Manage projects end-to-end using Azure Boards and agile methods
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance throughout BI/analytics workflows
• Provide platform support for data quality, performance, and reliability
