Job summary

Taxwell seeks a detail-oriented Analytics Engineer II to join our Data Analytics Engineering team. You will build reliable data models and scalable pipelines to support reporting, self-service analytics, and business decisions across the organization.

You'll collaborate with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to transform raw data into clean datasets and consistent metrics. Modern cloud data tech and AI-assisted tools help drive quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in analytics engineering or a related data role.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins and window functions.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and Snowflake.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and data governance concepts.
• Experience with Git, PR reviews, and collaborative workflows.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data models and transformation pipelines.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to support reporting and analytics.
• Own work from requirements through deployment and support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate analytical needs into datasets.
• Integrate new data sources with data engineers and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, and documentation.
• Investigate data quality issues and improve performance.
• Contribute to semantic layers and shared metric definitions.
• Maintain data definitions and lineage for governance and self-service analytics.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to aid SQL development and testing.
