Job summary

Randstad USA in Boston seeks a Scientist for a 6-month on-site contract to perform functional potency bioassays (ELISA, plate-based, flow cytometry) in support of Analytical Development. You will troubleshoot assays, optimize performance, and maintain ELN documentation.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Cell & Molecular Biology or Biochemistry, hands-on lab gear experience, and proficiency with Excel/ELN/LIMS. 2+ years in biotech is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with core lab equipment (multi-channel pipettes, plate readers/washers, centrifuges, flow cytometers).
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and ELN/LIMS systems; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional potency bioassays (ELISA, plate-based platforms, flow cytometry) in support of Analytical Development.
• Assist with assay troubleshooting, optimization, and performance trending under guidance.
• Maintain clear documentation in ELN and test forms; track raw data and perform routine analysis.

In this role, you will perform functional potency bioassays, supporting Analytical Development workstreams and advancing critical biologics programs.

Location and Compensation

Responsibilities

• Execute functional potency bioassays (ELISA, plate-based platforms, flow cytometry) in support of Analytical Development.
• Assist with assay troubleshooting, optimization, and performance trending under manager guidance.
• Maintain clear, precise documentation in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and test forms.
• Track raw assay data and perform routine data analysis to support biologics workstreams.
• Manage laboratory consumables, reagents, and material inventory efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with core lab equipment (multi-channel pipettes, plate readers/washers, centrifuges, flow cytometers).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and sample management via ELN/LIMS systems.
• Proven problem-solving skills and strong oral/written communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant biotech industry or regulated-laboratory experience.
• Background in the cell and gene therapy space.
