Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Scientist I in Analytical Chemistry to support late-phase development of peptide drug substances. The role requires developing, validating, and transferring analytical methods, with experience in peptide manufacturing and core analytical techniques such as HPLC, MS, and amino acid analysis.

You will work with interdisciplinary teams, troubleshoot, and communicate findings effectively while adhering to cGMP and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in chemistry/chemical biology with corresponding lab experience.
• Proven experience with peptide manufacturing processes and analytical methods.
• Hands-on expertise with HPLC, GC, IC, and mass spectrometry including method development and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with cGMP/regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and perform method development, validation, execution and assessment of results.
• Troubleshoot routine scientific and technical issues.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve capabilities.
• Execute established techniques independently.
• Document experiments in EDR systems and generate reports.
• Utilize scientific software to process and report data.
• Prepare protocols and regulatory documents.
• Interact with external partners with minimal supervision.
• Present results and engage with local and global teams.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct, safety and GxP standards.
