Job summary

LifePoint Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Quality Analyst to join the Highpoint Health Sumner site in Gallatin. The role focuses on assessing the quality of patient care, coordinating services across departments, and supporting performance improvement initiatives within the Trauma Program.

The incumbent will report to the Quality Director, work with the TPM, and may provide patient care when needed.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• MS in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or Quality strongly preferred.
• Three to five years diverse clinical practice in an acute care environment required.
• Previous performance improvement and/or large-scale project management experience required.
• Demonstrated progressive leadership skills required.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assists with developing departmental goals and objectives that support the organization's strategic plan.
• Supports the Trauma Program Manager and Quality Director in performance improvement initiatives.
• Coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments; may provide direct patient care when needed.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, scheduling, payroll, and staff development.
• Presents at Quality and Safety Committee meetings and other forums as required.

How you’ll contribute

The Quality Department is seeking an internal candidate for a Quality Analyst position. This role will primarily serve as a Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator supporting the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) while reporting to the Quality Director. The Registered Nurse Quality Analyst assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary. Reports to: Director, Quality Management. FLSA: Exempt.

Qualifications and requirements

Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) required.
Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or Quality strongly preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years diverse clinical practice in an acute care environment required.
Previous performance improvement and/or large scale project management experience required.
Demonstrated progressive leadership skills required.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
Essential Functions
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Assists the director in managing staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Assists the director by making presentations at various meetings including Quality and Safety Committee, New Employee Orientation, and others.
May assist the director in monitoring departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
