Job description

Carpenter Technology’s high‑performance materials and advanced process solutions are integral to critical applications in the aerospace, transportation, medical and energy markets.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide advanced capability in one or more areas of infrastructure management and support or project management.
• Research, evaluate, design, develop, install, and maintain technology solutions (hardware and software) for the corporate infrastructure.
• Demonstrate sound business, technical and fiscal judgment to recommend and implement solutions to complex infrastructure issues.
• Manage the physical delivery and ongoing support of complex products, services, applications, network systems and overall solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in the performance of complex systems upgrades, workstation setups and server configurations.
• Maintain software and hardware inventories and assist less experienced analysts with non‑standard requests.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ten to fifteen years of related experience.
• Broad knowledge of Carpenter IT systems and business; knowledge of relevant infrastructure technologies including mainframe operating systems, storage hardware, network hardware, PC and server hardware, and Active Directory.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify innovative solutions.

Technology Stack

• Inspection, testing, writing and troubleshooting application source code (C#).
• Develop solutions using Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server / SQL Server Management Studio, and Microsoft Azure DevOps with git.
• Build N‑Tier Web Applications (Browser/Web Server/Database Server) using Blazor and Telerik for Blazor Control Library.
• Use Microsoft Active Directory and Groups for authentication and authorization.
• Target Microsoft .NET Framework (Core).
