Job summary

CalRecycle is seeking an Analyst II in Sacramento. The role supports the Office of Audits with complex analytical, operational, technical, and administrative duties.

The incumbent will coordinate recruitment actions, track regulatory packages, and serve as a liaison with various administrative units. As of July 1st, 2026, the position is office-centered with a four-day-per-week in-office requirement; hybrid telework may be possible under policy, with eligibility constraints for non-California

Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Analyst II performs complex analytical, operational, technical, and administrative assignments that support the Office of Audits (OOA). The position serves as a critical resource for audit management and staff by assisting with audit preparation, coordinating personnel actions and recruitment, tracking legislative and regulatory packages, and serving as a liaison with various administrative units. The incumbent is expected to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, initiative, and independent judgment and to play a central role in maintaining efficient, compliant, and well-supported audit operations.

As of July 1st, 2026, the position is office-centered, and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the positions designated headquarter location, as reflected on the duty statement and at their own expense.
