Responsibilities

  • Develop, administer, and coordinate grant packages across programs.
  • Gather and edit the grant workplan narrative and support fiscal data.
  • Submit application packages via Grants.gov and monitor EPA grant requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between the Site Mitigation and Restoration Program and the Financial Planning Unit.
  • Develop annual grant expenditure estimates for inclusion in the Governor’s Budget, in consultation with Budget Office.
  • Monitor grant expenditure to ensure alignment with workplans and allowable costs.

Job Description And Duties

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is seeking an Analyst II to support major federal and state grant programs within the Site Mitigation and Restoration Program (SMRP). This role focuses on developing and managing grant packages, performing fiscal and analytical work, and coordinating closely with technical staff and partner agencies. Ideal candidates bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to DTSC’s mission of protecting California’s communities and environment. Come join us today!

As an Analyst II you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, administer, and facilitate State Response Program, Site Assessment, Communitywide Assessment, and Cleanup grants application and amendment packages in coordination with technical grant managers
  • Independently gather and edit the grant workplan narrative and support fiscal data to ensure full compliance with US EPA grant requirements
  • Submit application packages via Grants.gov database as necessary and monitor EPAGrants mailbox to ensure full compliance with US EPA grant requirement
  • Serve as liaison between the Site Mitigation and Restoration Program and the Financial Planning Unit and provide local assistance in form of grants and loans
  • Develop annual grant expenditure estimates for inclusion in the Governor’s Budget, in consultation with Budget Office
  • Monitor grant expenditure to ensure that the grant funds are utilized consistently with workplans and allowable costs
