Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor in Illinois seeks a Paramedic to provide basic and advanced life support to guests and team members within the amusement park setting. You will respond to medical calls, triage patients, document care on tablets, and maintain EMS equipment, while adhering to Region X protocols and park safety policies.

Responsibilities include on-scene care, triage, equipment checks, documentation, and collaboration with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must hold IDPH EMT-Paramedic license with reciprocity meeting Region X requirements.
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Meet Region X entry requirements through Highland Park Hospital.
• Obtain and maintain a Park Vehicle Operator’s Permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced emergency and non-emergency medical care to team members and guests in accordance with park and Region X System protocols.
• Triage patients when multiple calls or patients overwhelm available personnel; determine dispositions and transports.
• Use an electronic tablet for documenting reports.
• Complete checks on bags, monitors, drugs, vehicles, and treatment areas before, during, and after each shift; restock supplies as necessary.
• Assist BLS crews on calls when requested and sufficient personnel are available.
• Assist Paramedic and EMT-B Supervisors with skills training of EMT-B personnel.
• Safely operate department vehicles.
• Answer calls for emergency assistance via telephone and radio.
• Perform drug and alcohol screens on team members per park policies.
• Transport team members to off-site acute care facilities for occupational health services.
• Maintain a clean work area; perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities.
• Complete safety ride audits and safety inspections at direction of Safety staff and First Aid Supervisors and Leads.
• Maintain a professional relationship with guests and team members.
• Maintain grooming standards per park policies.
• Adhere to park labor policies pertaining to breaks, shift length and work types.
