Job summary

Six Flags Great America in Illinois seeks a Paramedic to provide basic and advanced life support to guests and team members in a theme park setting. You will respond to medical and trauma calls within Region X scope and work with park safety staff.

The role requires EMT-Paramedic licensure with IDPH reciprocity, BLS CPR, a valid driver’s license, and readiness to work nights, weekends and holidays outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• EMT-Paramedic licensure with reciprocity to IDPH.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Meets Region X system entry requirements.
• Park Vehicle Operator’s Permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced emergency and non-emergency medical care to team members and guests.
• Triage patients when multiple calls or patients overwhelm personnel.
• Use an electronic tablet for documenting reports.
• Complete checks on bags, monitors, drugs, vehicles, and treatment areas.
• Assist BLS crews on calls when requested and sufficient personnel are available.
• Assist Paramedic and EMT-B Supervisors with skills training of EMT-B personnel.
• Safely operate department vehicles.
• Answer calls for emergency assistance via telephone and radio.
• Perform drug and alcohol screens on team members.
• Transport team members to off-site acute care facilities.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities.
• Complete safety ride audits and safety inspections as directed.
• Maintain a professional relationship with guests and team members.
• Maintain grooming standards as per policy.
• Adhere to park labor policies regarding breaks, shifts, and types of work.
