Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor is seeking an EMT-B to initiate emergency and non-emergency basic life support for guests and team members in a busy amusement park setting. The EMT-B will assist ALS personnel, respond to medical/trauma calls, and operate within IDPH Region X scope of practice.

Requirements include an EMT-B license, BLS CPR certification, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work flexible hours outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• EMT-B license required with reciprocity as specified by IDPH Region X.
• CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification current.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must operate within park EMS protocols and system entry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care per IDPH Region X.
• Triage and manage multiple calls; determine disposition and transport needs.
• Document reports on an electronic tablet.
• Inspect bags, vehicles, and treatment areas; restock supplies.
• Assist ALS crews on calls and operate department vehicles safely.
• Respond to emergency calls via phone and radio; transport to facilities when needed.
• Maintain clean First Aid facilities and perform safety audits.
