Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor seeks an EMT-B to provide emergency and non-emergency basic life support to guests and team members in a bustling amusement park setting. You will assist ALS personnel, respond to medical/trauma calls, and operate within Region X scope of practice.

The role requires flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, a high school diploma or GED, and current EMT-B licensure with appropriate reciprocity.

Qualifikationen

• Age 18 years or older.
• Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Licensure and Certification: Current Illinois Department of Public Health EMT-B License; Wisconsin License or National Registry license meeting reciprocity with Region X; AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR; Valid Driver’s License; Park Vehicle Operator’s Permit.
• Must meet Region X system entry requirements through Highland Park Hospital.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Knowledge of BLS equipment used in the park (pulse oximeter, glucometer, splints, etc).
• Ability to handle moderate stress and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Safety awareness and general housekeeping.
• Flexible to changes; professional, self-motivated, multi-tasking, enthusiastic.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others.

Aufgaben

• Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care to team members and guests in accordance with established I.D.P.H. Region X protocols.
• Triage patients when multiple calls, make dispositions and transports as needed.
• Use an electronic tablet for documenting reports.
• Complete checks on bags, vehicles, and treatment areas before, during, and after each shift; restock supplies as necessary.
• Assist ALS crews on calls as directed.
• Safely operate department vehicles.
• Answer calls for emergency assistance via telephone and radio.
• Perform drug and alcohol screens on team members in accordance with park policies.
• Transport team members to off-site acute care facilities for occupational health services.
• Maintain a clean work area; perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities.
• Complete safety ride audits and safety inspections at direction of supervisory staff.
• Maintain a professional relationship with guests and team members.
• Maintain grooming standards according to Six Flags Great America and Safety Department policies.
• Adhere to all park labor policies pertaining to breaks, shift length, and work performed.
