Job summary

Raytheon’s Aerospace and Defense team in Tucson seeks a Principal Engineer to lead Integrated Product Teams for AMRAAM Production Engineering. You’ll guide a cross-disciplinary group, align with program and factory engineers, and drive process improvements to meet throughput and yield targets.

The role requires 8+ years in engineering with EVMS/PM experience, plus a strong background in production engineering, hardware/test software development, and collaboration with SME, PTE, and ME teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience with EVMS and Program management.
• Experience with Test Systems Engineering for hardware and test software in production environments.
• Experience with EVMS, IMP, IMS, and Risk/Opportunity Management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a cross functional team of 7-10 Responsible Engineering Authorities (REAs) including mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Analyze data related to factory throughput and yield and recommend improvements.
• Interface with program and factory chief engineers to ensure alignment with constraints and changes.
• Partner with Value Stream Managers and Value Stream Leads to ensure program support for throughput and yield.
• Collaborate with SME, PTE, and ME to ensure alignment with REA team.
• Communicate with suppliers and travel when necessary to support constraints and reviews.
• Maintain material and labor budgets for the IPT and report deviations weekly.
• Maintain a project tracking system and review progress with each REA weekly.
• Innovate to create improvement projects across multiple factories (Andover CCA, Tucson RF/EI).
• Recognize REAs for project wins and excellence.
• Execute qualification efforts.
• Manage and execute Scope Board Projects.
