Job summary

Weee! Inc is hiring a Refrigeration System Operator to maintain and repair ammonia-based cooling systems at the Clifton, NJ site. The role requires hands-on operation of cascade ammonia setups, inspections, and emergency response to keep fast-moving refrigeration processes running.

Applicants should have a Blue Seal license and 5+ years of ammonia/refrigeration experience, with strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills and safety training. Onsite work, full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of ammonia and freon-based refrigeration experience
• At least 4 years in cooling processes, ammonia refrigeration in food processing/storage facilities
• Experience with screw and reciprocating compressors, pumps, HVAC units and associated controls
• Knowledge of chemical testing for cooling towers and ammonia systems preferred
• Hazardous materials handling and lock-out/tag-out familiarity

Responsibilities

• Maintain ammonia refrigeration and freon cooling systems including operation, maintenance and repairs
• Operate single/two-stage/cascade ammonia systems and subsystems
• Monitor system pressures and temperatures; perform repairs and schedule service
• Inspect and maintain refrigeration equipment and related machinery
• Respond to emergencies and document system readings and reports
