Job summary

NorthWestern Energy is offering an internship in AMI Mitigation and Deployment, based in Montana or nearby service locations. The role trains you to support deployment and mitigation of AMI endpoints and to assist in data requests for revenue needs.

As a student intern, you will work with the Customer Care team, learn cybersecurity practices, and help test updates with field resources. The program runs Oct–Dec 2026 and May–Aug 2027, with potential part-time terms.

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Engineering, Business, IT, or CS degree path required.
• Sophomore level or higher by start date.

Responsibilities

• Support AMI endpoint deployment and mitigation activities for electric and gas meters.
• Gather and develop data requests to support revenue requests.
• Test applied updates and issues with field resources.
• Collaborate with Customer Care, field resources, vendors, and internal colleagues to support project needs.
