NorthWestern Energy is offering an internship in AMI Mitigation and Deployment, based in Montana or nearby service locations. The role trains you to support deployment and mitigation of AMI endpoints and to assist in data requests for revenue needs.
As a student intern, you will work with the Customer Care team, learn cybersecurity practices, and help test updates with field resources. The program runs Oct–Dec 2026 and May–Aug 2027, with potential part-time terms.

NorthWestern Energy is seeking an Intern - AMI Mitigation and Deployment to support the Customer Care team and work directly with the AMI - Automated Meter Infrastructure project. This intern will receive technical training to support the deployment and mitigation of endpoints for electric and gas meters, gather and develop data requests to support revenue requests, and test applied updates and issues with field resources.
Support all aspects of the AMI project by interacting with stakeholders to identify problems and develop solution requirements, helping implement and enhance project activities, supporting business process improvements and automation, troubleshooting complex issues, applying cybersecurity policies, and creating and maintaining process, training, technical documentation, standards, and procedures for supported systems and applications.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.00/hour (first-year interns $20.00/hour; returning interns $21.00/hour)
