Job summary

NorthWestern Energy is seeking an Intern for AMI Mitigation and Deployment to support the Customer Care team in Butte, Montana. You will receive technical training to support deployment and mitigation of AMI endpoints for electric and gas meters, while gathering data requests to support revenue needs and testing updates with field resources.

The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, cybersecurity awareness, and documentation of processes and standards.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, IT, or CS
• Sophomore level or higher by start date
• Must be in good academic standing
• Provide GPA in resume at application
• Strong customer service and problem-resolution skills
• Familiarity with Windows OS, servers, networks and security

Responsibilities

• Support AMI project by coordinating with stakeholders to identify problems and requirements
• Assist deployment and mitigation of AMI endpoints for electric and gas meters
• Test updates with field resources and document results
• Gather data requests to support revenue and project needs
• Collaborate with Customer Care, vendors and colleagues to plan and execute patches and upgrades
• Contribute to process, training and technical documentation for supported systems
