Job summary

NorthWestern Energy is seeking an Intern for AMI Mitigation and Deployment to support the Customer Care team and gain hands-on experience with the AMI project. The role involves training, deploying and mitigating AMI endpoints, gathering data requests for revenue support, and testing updates with field resources.

The position emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, cybersecurity awareness, and documentation practices while contributing to ongoing project activities and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record.
• Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Engineering, Business, IT, or CS related degree path required.
• Student must have completed sophomore level or higher by start date.
• Must be in good academic standing and provide GPA in resume.
• Must possess strong customer service and computer technology problem-resolution skills.
• General knowledge of Windows OS, servers, networks, security, and business continuity practices.
• Strong written and oral communication and documentation skills.
• Self-starter who pursues self-education and is customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
• Interact with stakeholders to identify problems and develop requirements for solutions.
• Support AMI project deployment, mitigation activities for electric and gas meters.
• Test updates and issues with field resources.
• Collaborate with Customer Care, field resources, vendors, and internal colleagues to support project needs.
