Job summary

Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon, is seeking an Automation AMHS Equipment Engineer to design, develop, test, and sustain software for automated material handling and storage systems used in wafer and reticle transport within a cleanroom environment.

You will work with firmware, drivers, and database platforms to improve performance, diagnose issues, and integrate new equipment into manufacturing, with on-site presence and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering, or related STEM field with 3+ years of experience.
• Master's degree with 2+ years of experience is acceptable.
• 1+ years MBSE techniques and CAD/CAM/CAE experience (AutoCAD; SolidWorks or similar).
• Experience with factory engineering equipment in fabrication environments and data analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own, design, develop, test, validate, debug, and sustain software for AMHS hardware and storage systems.
• Collaborate with firmware, drivers, and OS to improve system performance.
• Support installation, qualification, and startup of AMHS and equipment.
• Enable automated wafer and reticle movement across Oregon campuses.
• Troubleshoot issues, manage escalations, and drive timely resolutions.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Partner with IT services to optimize factory operations and integrate new product introductions.
