Job summary

Community Counseling Solutions is seeking an AmeriCorps Seniors Project Coordinator (Bilingual Preferred) in Pendleton, OR. The role coordinates Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs, recruits volunteers, and ensures programs meet grant requirements.

The position is 1 FTE non-exempt, expects 40 hours weekly, with supervision by the AmeriCorps Seniors Project Director. A bilingual proficiency exam can unlock a 10% increase; a $5,500 hiring bonus is available until 10/31/26.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with community groups, volunteers, and partner agencies.
• Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
• Strong organizational skills and diligence.
• Ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for frequent local travel.

Responsibilities

• Represent the programs in the community by giving presentations, participating in meetings and conferences, and building local partnerships.
• Conduct outreach to recruit senior volunteers and develop new volunteer station relationships.
• Spend more than 50% of work time in the field, attending events, conducting outreach, and supporting volunteer stations.
• Recruit, screen, place, and supervise volunteers to ensure successful assignments.
• Plan and organize volunteer meetings and events, including schedules and agendas.
• Deliver ongoing volunteer training on program objectives, community resources, and advanced learning opportunities.
