Job summary

Ampact Reading Corps in Wisconsin Rapids is seeking Reading Tutors to support students as they develop essential reading skills. You’ll work with pairs of students for short, focused sessions and track progress with an onsite coach, following a structured schedule.

This AmeriCorps position emphasizes coaching, training, and community involvement. We offer part-time options and a 35-hour work week during the school year, with stipends at $17 per hour and comprehensive education benefits,

Qualifications

• Dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen or Authorized to work in the United States and able to complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
