Job summary

Ampact is seeking Reading Corps Reading Tutors to work with students in local Wisconsin schools. You will conduct 20-minute reading sessions with pairs of students, follow a schedule, and track progress with guidance from an onsite coach.

AmeriCorps members receive a stipend, benefits, and education assistance. This role emphasizes growth through coaching, training, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
