Job summary

Bondaval is hiring a Risk Underwriter to analyse and underwrite Americas risks within delegated authority, working alongside senior underwriters in the US and London. We are building out the US underwriting team as the Americas book grows, with expectations to own a portion of the portfolio and present papers to the Underwriting Committee.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in credit underwriting or credit analysis, ideally in trade credit insurance, a bank or a credit insurer.
• Working knowledge of the North American credit environment, including US insolvency regimes.
• Clear, concise writing that turns analysis into a well-argued recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and underwrite new and on-boarded Americas risks within delegated authority.
• Carry out detailed buyer credit analysis: financials, sector, country and payment behaviour.
• Prepare transaction papers for the Underwriting Committee, and present them.
• Monitor the Americas portfolio for emerging risks and recommend action.
• Track and report portfolio metrics and performance indicators.
• Support renewal reviews and execution with our Americas commercial team and brokers.
• Give product and engineering practical feedback on the tools you use every day.
