Veeam, based in Seattle, seeks a US-based Director of Commercial Legal to lead the Americas Commercial Legal team. You will support a fast-paced sales organization, negotiate strategic software transactions, and contribute as a key individual contributor.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years post-qualification experience, US bar admission, and proven leadership in a software company. You will collaborate with Sales, Deal Desk, and cross-functional teams to drive favorable business outcomes.

Qualifications

12+ years post-qualification experience in software/tech
In-house experience in a software/tech company preferred
Proven leadership of a legal team

Responsibilities

Lead Americas Commercial Legal team of 4-5 lawyers and partner with Sales, Deal Desk and other stakeholders
Negotiate and close complex software, SaaS, BaaS, and professional services agreements
Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice balancing regulatory, privacy, and business needs
Coach and develop the Americas team and address performance issues promptly
Build strong partnerships with Sales and leadership to align on pipeline and priorities
Develop and deliver training to enable faster contracting and smoother processes
Serve as escalation point for high-risk matters and communicate trends to leadership
Foster a collaborative, improving culture across the global Commercial Legal team
