Job summary

CCBC is seeking an Adjunct Level 1 instructor to teach courses in deaf-related disciplines, with emphasis on ASL and Deaf Studies. A master’s degree in a deaf-related field and teaching experience are required, along with strong computer and Microsoft skills. Deaf individuals are encouraged to apply.

The pay is $1,085 per credit hour, and CCBC offers retirement options, parking, and paid sick leave for part-time staff. This is a part-time adjunct faculty posting across CCBC campuses.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a deaf-related discipline such as ASL Teaching, Deaf Studies, or Linguistics of ASL.
  • Two years of teaching experience.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
  • Prior college teaching experience preferred.
  • Deaf individuals are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator.
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  • Develops a course syllabus in keeping with program and College policies.
  • Ensures that evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner.
  • Monitors student performance and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe.

  5. Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program andCollege policies
  6. Ensures that program specific evaluation methods areadministered and completed in a consistent and equitablemanner
  7. Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectivelyassessing the established course objectives
  8. Monitors student performance on a regular basis and providesfeedback within a reasonable timeframe to students

Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
