Class Description

Provide reference service to students, faculty, staff, and the community. Provide library instruction to individuals and classes; and participate in collection development and collection maintenance efforts.

Minimum Requirements
- M.L.S. or equivalent degree from an accredited ALA institution
- Experience locating information using online research databases and other credible information sources
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Staff reference desk, including opening, evening and Saturday hours
- Conduct reference interviews to determine information needs
- Choose sources appropriate to questions asked, assignment objectives and user's level of expertise
- Effectively use and teach a variety of sources including print materials, online catalog, subscription databases, internet and Microsoft Office applications
- Maintain an open, friendly and professional attitude when handling multiple reference and information requests
- Collaborate with classroom faculty to plan library instruction sessions
- Teach principles of information literacy in library instruction sessions
- Instruct classes in the use of library resources
- Develop online and print teaching aids and handouts
- Participate in collection maintenance projects

The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBCemployees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Timeemployees).
- Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when youopen a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre‑tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post‑tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.

Parking
Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
Sick and Safe Leave
CCBC is pleased to offer paid sick and safe leave for part‑time employees. Paid sick and safe leave is earned by all part‑time employees including credit and non‑credit adjunct faculty, part‑time associates and other part‑time employees.
