Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking an OR Technician for Ambulatory Surgery, full-time, days. Under RN supervision, you will deliver safe, age-appropriate care and support the surgical team with instruments, sutures, and equipment while maintaining aseptic technique.

You will circulate and gather instruments during procedures and participate in unit quality improvement and education initiatives. Prior OR technologist experience and BLS are required, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards, infection control, and equipment handling policies.
• Provides equipment and supplies based on patient needs.
• Assists in circulating, gathers instruments, and maintains aseptic technique.
• Communicates with the surgical team and documents appropriately.
• Monitors patient status and reports to the RN as needed.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and staff education.
