Qualifications

• High School Diploma Typical requirements include 1 year of health care-based customer service experience with scheduling, registration, insurance authorization and/or patient billing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates scheduling of surgical procedures between physicians and offices and related departments.
• Communicates schedule changes to departments and staff, optimizing room and equipment use.
• Schedules next-day and future surgical procedures and maintains assignments.
• Prints and distributes future OR schedules to relevant areas and notifies providers of changes.
• Obtains lab work, X-rays, and H&P as applicable and coordinates charges by procedure.
