Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute is seeking a Surgical Scheduler in Park Ridge, IL to handle surgical scheduling, pre-certification and verification of benefits for patients and procedures across the practice.

Responsibilities include coordinating surgical dates with patients, arranging pre-admission testing, maintaining the physician's calendar, and handling referrals and self-pay tasks. Requires medical terminology knowledge and experience with EHR and practice management software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or at least one year medical office experience, preferably with electronic medical records
• Associates degree preferred
• One year medical office experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of surgical procedures for assigned surgeons and maintain knowledge for scheduling across the practice
• Discuss and coordinate surgical date with patient/family in line with physician schedule
• Provide patients with information including cardiac and medical clearance
• Schedule pre-operative and post-operative appointments including pre-admission testing
• Complete pre-surgical history and physical and post-op visits
• Maintain and update the physician's surgical calendar
