Job summary

Wayne Health is seeking a Scheduler to manage patient surgeries and related scheduling tasks within our ambulatory care setting. You will input demographics, insurance, and billing data, schedule initial and follow-up visits, and coordinate with patients to ensure timely procedures.

Responsibilities include obtaining authorizations, documenting updates in the scheduling system, and communicating prep instructions and locations.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for coordinating patient services.
• Analytical skills to resolve scheduling and patient flow issues.
• Proficient with standard office equipment and computer keyboards.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient surgeries and procedures.
• Input and verify patient demographics, insurance, and billing data.
• Communicate with patients about preparation instructions and locations.
• Obtain required authorizations and document authorization numbers.
• Maintain accurate schedules with updates for arrivals, no shows, cancellations, and rescheduled appointments.
