Job summary

USPI Odessa Endoscopy Center is seeking a Part Time Surgery Scheduler to join our team. The center operates in a fast-paced ambulatory setting with schedules Monday-Friday and potential early mornings or later evenings.

The role focuses on planning and scheduling surgical and related appointments, and assisting with credentialing duties. The candidate will interact with doctors, anesthesia, and insurance carriers to ensure smooth clinical flow.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years direct scheduler experience in the medical field; scheduling surgeries preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be outgoing, positive, proactive and a critical thinker.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries and coordinate with Surgery Center, doctors, anesthesia, and insurance carriers.
• Maintain master schedule to ensure coordination of doctors, anesthesia, lab and insurance carriers.
• Gather all detailed patient chart information and enter into computer system.
• Pre-certification/referrals in order for Insurance Coordinator.
• Assist with billing packets for CSO daily and support front office as needed.
• Coordinate credentialing related tasks and communicate with administrator.
