Job summary

The Comprehensive Joint & Spine Institute in Odessa, FL is seeking a full-time Scheduler to manage surgery scheduling and registration at our Odessa center. The role focuses on building strong relationships with physician offices and ensuring all patient information and authorizations are complete before procedures.

The Scheduler handles calls, updates charts, and supports front desk tasks to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum three years’ experience in health care and minimum of one year experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team; handle stress.
Familiarity with medical terminology related to surgery and operating room.
Must communicate clearly in person and by phone and maintain cooperative relationships.

Responsibilities

Schedules surgeries in the computer with relevant details.
Handles calls from physician offices about scheduling and patient needs.
Performs pre-registration and ensures authorization before surgery.
Prepares patient charts and completes required paperwork for registration.
Maintains scheduling area and related logs, supports reception and registration duties.
