Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oregon is seeking an RN First Assistant (RNFA) to support the surgical team during intra-operative care across Northwest Region Ambulatory Surgery Centers. You will work with the surgeon and health care team to assess, plan, and deliver advanced nursing care.

The role requires 2+ years scrub/circulating experience, an Oregon RN license, and active ACLS/BLS certification. You will ensure patient safety, manage instruments, and participate in briefings and turnover.

Qualifications

• Two years of intra-operative scrubbing and circulating experience.
• One year of RNFA experience or completion of a CCI-recognized RNFA course with ASC agreement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon and OR team during operative procedures.
• Provide knowledge-based technical assistance and maintain aseptic technique.
• Coordinate with circulating nurse for equipment and implant needs.
• Set up ESU, lights, suction, and sterile field.
• Monitor sterile technique and ensure patient safety throughout surgery.
• Support patient transfer and post-operative turnover per policy.
