Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest is seeking an RN First Assistant (RNFA) to support intra-operative care within the Northwest Region Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The role collaborates with surgeons to perform advanced nursing duties, assessment and planning for surgical cases, and ensures patient safety and continuity of care throughout pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.

Essential qualifications include two years of intra-operative scrubbing and circulating experience, Oregon RN license,

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of intra-operative scrubbing and circulating experience.
• One (1) year of RNFA or completion of a CCI RNFA course with ASC agreement.
• Registered Nurse License (Oregon).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Nurse Operating Room Certificate

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team intra-operatively with instruments, exposure, and tissue handling.
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and equipment.
• Position patient and assist in transfers as needed.
• Support continuity of care and effective communication within the surgical team.
