Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking an RN I for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit in Roanoke, VA. The role provides professional nursing care across age groups, from pre-op through recovery, with emphasis on safe discharge and patient education.

Responsibilities include assessments, planning, implementing and documenting care in the EMR, and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes. BLS is required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required based on area.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients across all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Administer treatments and medications with accurate documentation in EMR.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans.
• Support orientation and training of new staff and participate in quality initiatives.
