Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an ASC Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, perform assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and educate patients while maintaining medical records.

The role collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional health care team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care, leads with shared governance initiatives, and demonstrates clinical competence in medications, procedures, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Two years nursing experience in a pre-op/PACU, ICU or ED environment
• RN - Texas State Licensure - Texas Board of Nursing_PSV Compact Licensure – Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency)
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
• CAPA - Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (ABPANC) and
• CPAN - Certified Postanesthesia Nurse (ABPANC)

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population and conducts nursing assessments
• Assists with exams and treatment and maintains medical records
• Provides patient education and collaborates with physicians and interprofessional health care team
• Demonstrates leadership with progressive responsibility including shared governance initiatives
• Communicates and collaborates to facilitate compassionate, efficient, quality care and patient advocacy
