Job summary

East Houston Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Pre-Op / PACU. This full-time role delivers perioperative care focused on safety, clear communication, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas RN license, has a BSN preferred, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least one year of acute care experience in a surgical setting; on-call every other weekend is required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Texas.
• BSN preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
• Minimum one year of acute care experience; Pre-Op or PACU experience.
• Demonstrated ability to stay composed in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan nursing care in pre-op and post-anesthesia phases.
• Monitor vitals, airway, and pain during recovery; intervene as needed.
• Administer medications and educate on post-op expectations.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and OR team for safety and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Support infection control and continuous improvement processes.
