Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision in Minnesota is seeking an Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse to join our team. You will handle pre-op assessments, patient education, and be part of a coordinated perioperative team.

You will monitor vital signs, prepare patients for surgery, communicate with the circulating nurse, anesthesia and surgeon, and support safe post-operative recovery while prioritizing patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited RN program from a university or technical school.
• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience in a hospital or surgery center preferred.
• Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical histories and perform physical assessments for patients.
• Educate patients before procedures; explain procedures and alleviate apprehension.
• Monitor vital signs and notify physicians of changes.
• Prepare patients for surgery, obtain consent, and perform pre-op assessments.
• Coordinate with circulating nurse, recovery, anesthesia, and surgeon for a safe surgical experience.
• Ensure patient safety in recovery and manage post-operative care instructions.
