Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision is growing and seeks an Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse to join our team. You will provide compassionate perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes.

In this role, you will obtain histories, perform pre-op assessments, educate patients, coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia, monitor recovery, and support safe post-op care while upholding our core values and commitment to excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patients’ medical history and perform physical assessments for assigned patients
• Initiate a patient education plan according to patient needs and policy
• Record vital signs and observe patient conditions, notifying physicians as needed
• Maintain patient comfort and safety; respond to emergencies per policies
• Prepare patients for surgery, obtain informed consent, and assist with pre-op assessments
• Coordinate with circulating nurse, recovery room nurse, anesthesia provider, and surgeon for safe flow
• Monitor patient recovery and safety after anesthesia and surgery
• Explain post-operative care requirements to patients and families
• Collaborate with perioperative staff and surgeons to ensure quality care
