Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Make It Possible Patient Services Assistant for Ambulatory Surgery. This part-time, day-shift role supports the Operating Room with patient escort, errands and assistance to RN/LPN/OR tech, ensuring patient safety and service excellence.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, current BLS certification, and at least 3 years in a hospital/healthcare setting with good English communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least 3 years related experience in hospital/healthcare setting.
• Must have the ability to read and write English with good command of verbal English.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Service Assistant functions in a multi-faceted capacity in the Operating Room.
• Works under the supervision of the Patient Care Director or designee.
• Provides escort and transport service.
• Performs STAT errands.
• Performs assigned duties to assist the Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse/OR Technician.
• Provides for patient safety.
• To support and adhere to the Hospital’s Mission Statement and to perform according to the Hospital’s standards for customer service.
