Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking an Ambulatory Surgery Patient Support Assistant to join the Manhasset OR team. The role supports surgical teams and patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring a safe, efficient environment and compassionate, patient‑centered service.

The successful candidate will perform direct patient care activities, assist with admissions and transports, maintain sterile technique, and help prepare rooms and equipment for procedures, while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Attendant (CNA) certification required.
• CPR/AED certification (BLS or Heartsaver) required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility support.
• Monitor vital signs and track intake/output; report abnormalities to RN.
• Conduct patient rounds to address comfort and safety; respond to call lights.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges and escorting.
• Support basic clinical tasks and specimen collection; assist with procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient care environment and equipment readiness.
