Tampa Bay Joint & Spine Surgery Center is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead Pre-Op, PACU and GI nursing teams in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting in Florida. The role emphasizes clinical management, staffing, and adherence to center policies to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida RN license, a Bachelor's degree, and several years of surgical experience. CNOR is preferred, with strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities essential

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in surgery.
• Current FL RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
• CNOR strongly preferred.
• Independent decision making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
• Knowledge of OR policies and procedures.
• Clinically proficient in OR nursing for pediatric to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all surgical areas of care for Pre-Op, PACU & GI.
• Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Administrator.
• Ensure day-to-day operations align with clinical practice standards and center policies.
• Ensure adequate staffing daily and communicate scheduling changes promptly.
• Participate in monitoring and evaluating nursing care provided.
• Provide breaks and coverage for meal breaks, late cases and shortages.
• Ensure materials are ready for each case in advance.
• Facilitate efficient transitions between surgical procedures.
• Delegate, coach, mentor and resolve conflicts within the team.
• Build trust and respect through strong leadership and collaboration.
