Job summary

Tampa Bay Joint and Spine Surgery Center is seeking a Director of Nursing to provide clinical management for Pre-Op, PACU and GI services at our Clearwater-based ambulatory surgery center. This role supports surgeons, staff, and central sterile processing to ensure safe, efficient care and future growth opportunities within USPI-affiliated facilities.

Requirements include a Florida RN license, a bachelor’s degree, and 3+ years in surgery, with BLS/ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED, plus relevant experience.
• Minimum of three years in surgery.
• Current FL RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
• CNOR strongly preferred.
• Independent decision making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
• Knowledge of OR policies and procedures.
• Clinical proficiency in OR nursing for pediatric to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all surgical care areas (Pre-Op, PACU, GI).
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with the Administrator.
• Ensure daily operations align with clinical standards and center policies.
• Ensure adequate staffing and timely scheduling changes.
• Monitor and evaluate nursing care provided.
• Provide breaks and coverage for meal breaks, late cases, shortages.
• Ensure materials are ready for each case in advance.
• Facilitate efficient transitions between procedures.
• Delegate, coach, mentor, and resolve conflicts within the team.
• Build trust and lead the team through effective leadership.
