Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a Float Nurse for Ambulatory Care in the Surgical Specialty ACUs. You will deliver direct care to adult and pediatric patients, perform triage and nurse visits, and assist with perioperative procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Required: Michigan RN license, ACLS within 6 months, and EPIC EMR experience. Flexible schedules include hybrid/mobile options; this is not a remote position. Travel to multiple campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Michigan.
• Two years of RN experience in adult inpatient surgical unit, outpatient clinics, ED, or ICU.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• EMR experience, EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phone triage and in-basket management including assessment and nurse visits.
• Provide direct patient care: wound management, pre/post op care and education.
• Administer sedation/analgesia under physician direction and monitor hemodynamics.
• Care for adult and pediatric surgical patients across ACUs.
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate with care team.
