Job summary

University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor seeks a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Care Nurse Resource Pool in Surgical Specialties. This 28 hours/week, part-time, onsite role travels to multiple Michigan Medicine facilities and supports adult and pediatric ambulatory surgical patients.

You will perform phone triage, wound care, pre/postoperative education, IVs, and assist with procedures. Requires MI RN license and ACLS within 6 months; EPIC experience preferred; BSN desirable.

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in Michigan (RN).
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Two years of RN experience in adult inpatient surgical unit, adult outpatient surgical clinics, adult ED, or adult ICU.
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phone triage and nurse visits (in person/video) and manage in-basket tasks.
• Provide direct patient care: wound management, pre/post operative education, clinic procedures.
• Administer sedation/analgesia under physician direction and monitor hemodynamics.
• Provide nursing care to adult and pediatric surgical patients; document care accurately.
• Collaborate with teams to promote continuity of care and supervise support staff.
